Who use for valuables ie jewellery

Jewellery is perfectly OK to send with NZPost. You are covered upto $2000 using their standard courier service. 

The only restriction is that it must be packaged properly. Not really a big deal. Just don't chuck it in the courier bag with no protection. 

For items valued at greater than $2000 you can risk it, see if you can piggy back on your local jewellery store courier account, or arrange additional insurance directly with nzpost. 

Just NZPOST say no valuable jewellery. Might try a jeweller. Thanks

No it doesn't. A common misunderstanding though. It is only prohibited through standard post or economy. It is not prohibited by courier, which is what everyone would use anyway. Including if you are using Book a Courier on here. 

As mentioned in my first answer, as long as the value is below $2000, sent via courier, and packaged adequately it is perfectly fine to send. 

The replacement of jewellery item, if lost over $5000. Even though asking price is under the $2000. So looks to be pick up. Thank you for your reply😀

No, from what I understand as far as NZPost is concerned it's the lesser of replacement value, declared value, or sale / cost / actual value.  

For your belcher the value of it isn't $5000. It's $1699, your asking price.

So you are covered.

But you may want to double check directly with NZPost to reassure yourself.
