DVDs & BluRay don't count towards listing allowance - but CDs do?
Listed a DVD & CD box with the DVD missing under CDs and was surprised that CDs count towards your listing allowance.
Guess it doesn't have to make sense …

Yeah I think this is a hangover from a few years ago when Trade Me had a special listing process for DVDs
They weren't listed in the normal way. There was a database with all the DVDs on it. You would type the name of your DVD and the rest was prefilled. So it was perhaps too difficult to pull those listings through to be counted in the listing allowance
Either that or simply because there were/are some really big DVD sellers back before international sellers were allowed. They argued HVL fees were unfair on DVDs when they are a relatively low cost item but they have thousands listed.
I remember when DVDs were once one of Trade Me's biggest sellers. Times change of course......

Kia ora markuswinter and Callum, yes, this goes back to the days of the DVD catalogue. The catalogue meant that the DVD category didn't get clogged with members listing lots of the same thing.
