Kia Ora pilley41,
The money in our TradeMe accounts is used for Listing fees, payment option fees, High volume listings & Book a courier fees, it's not used to make purchases from. Bank deposits / transfers has been removed as a payment option, the company has moved to using Ping, Afterpay or cash payment methods meaning most purchases other than cash are covered by the 'Buyer Protection' policy. - There is no interest applied to funds in our TradeMe accounts, it's not a Bank account. When you make a purchase you are prompted to select your payment method that the Seller has opted to use on their Listings between any or all of the above payment methods of Ping, Afterpay or cash. Purchases can be paid for using a Debit or credit card, our Ping balance accrued from sales, as well as cash on pick up items.

Hello pilley41. No, Trade Me won't pay interest on your money sitting there.
Have you considered a debit card instead if you don't want a credit card?
If you are worried about hacking you can keep it at a balance of $0 then add money and use it immediately when you need to.
Money transferred to your Trade Me account is subject to the usual banking transfer times that we all are.
