Sold vehicle listed as 'withdrawn'
Answered-
This just happen to me, turns out someone stole the number plate off my van and put it someone else’s name, I hope this hasn’t happened to you. Wakakotahi seriously need to make some changes so anyone can stop changing owners online, it’s very frustrating.

That sucks man, sorry to hear. Fortunately not what happened in my case - I had successfully sold the vehicle and went to try and change it's status to sold, but the onscreen 'sold' button ended up only giving me the option to withdraw the listing. Naively thought it might be alright, except no, the listing was just withdrawn instead of being recorded as sold. But the same possibility you mentioned did also worry me.

Hi Alex. It's a bit confusing but it depends if you had your vehicle listed as a classified or an auction.
Overall there is no need to worry. Nobody can purchase or interact with a withdrawn item at all. It also doesn't appear on the website by browsing or searching.
If it was a classified that's it. It's gone. Sold and withdrawn are the same thing.
If it was an auction people who had it on their watchlist can get to the auction still but they can't purchase it, or bid, or ask questions.

Thank you both - the listing was classified so as you said Callum no worries.
I'll see if I can communicate my issue to TM.

Ah classified. That's all just completely normal then. It happens with every classified. Once you hit that sold button it is withdrawn from the website. It's how all classified ads work. Not really any necessity to contact Trade me?

Thanks again for confirming that. Did in fact get in contact with customer support and they said exactly the same thing. Today I have learned!
