Motors needs a revamp - hard to search on multiple items
AnsweredIf i want to search for say three different models of (as an example) a Lexus NX (350, 350H and 450H) - all basically the same car this is quite difficult to do and save as one search. Other websites I've used in Australia allow you to select mutiple options for a search - not here it seems.
So when I'm searching, I might want to search by power (i.e. > 140kW) or power-to-weight ration (e.g. > 110 kW/T) or engine size above 2400cc (most often the availbale size is 2500cc, but cars are often 2485cc or similar).
It would be good to have a chat to someone from Trademe or even the community to herd others opinions on the search for cars.

Callum Community SuperuserDon't forget that New Zealand is a much smaller place than Australia. I mean there are only 120ish Lexus NX in total listed. If you are only willing to buy within North or South island that will narrow it down. Also dealer / non dealer and adding the year(s) you are interested in can change things considerably if that's a consideration for you.
I don't think the power or P2 weight ratios are even captured on the data stream that is pulled through from registration plates? So you wouldn't be able to search by those. Some people with higher end models will state it in the description. If it did become a field for the seller to complete I'm sure most people will have no idea.
Engine size is part of the data. You can already search any engine sizes in 500cc increments. So a search for 2.0 to 2.5 would capture your 2.4 if that's what you mean.
If you weren't aware there are also things you can do with advanced searches using boolean operators and symbols.
