valid debit card doesnt work - also why doesnt trademe, a huge company, have a help dept?
hey guys
firstly i cant believe i have to come here for help, to other unpaid trademe members who should be compensated for their time, but here we are. i found this on google:
Trade Me is owned by Apax Partners, a British private equity firm that acquired the company in 2019 for NZ$2.56 billion, taking it private from the stock exchange. While founded by Sam Morgan and later owned by Fairfax Media, Apax Partners now holds full ownership of the online marketplace.
so there we are, private equity. yuck. if i could buy local i would.
my problem is this: i have a working debit card that i use for everything, however it wont work for trademe and i cant find out why or how to fix it. this has been happening for about 2 years now and im sick of using bank deposits, i just want my valid card to work. as trademe is too greedy and aversive to paying humans for the work they do im here asking you guys. how do i fix this? is there someone i can talk to? does trademe have a tech support dept or do they just sponge off of you guys? this is my last ditch effort, if this doesnt work then im just going to use ebay australia or temu or something. trademe isnt a kiwi company anymore so i dont give a sht.
thanks everyone, sorry for being grumpy, im just tired of the internet sucking and big tech / private equity / the capital class enshittifying everything they touch.

Hello Kerry. What do you mean exactly by "It doesn't work" Are you getting an error message? Are you talking about topping up your account, or paying for items you want to purchase? Have you had any other problems elsewhere with the card or checked it out with your bank?
If you need to you can Contact Trade Me on any page, including this one. Contact Us link at the bottom of the page.

Kia Ora Kerry,
Is your card pre-loaded on the site? - this often corrects the issue.
The Help file below walks you through how to do this depending on how you access the site, via the Desktop or one of the Apps and which payment cards are accepted by the company. - All the Best.
