Do I refund if the goods aren't faulty
AnsweredHi guys,
I have a buyer who brought an auction and the item was sent to them after payment... they emailed a few days later to say the item was faulty and they wanted a refund, i requested the item back and organised the return shipping, on inspection then arrived back we did not find the item to be faulty they had just not in fact charged it properly. they still want a refund;
My question is do I have to refund the buyer their shipping if the item isn't faulty? (which means I'm out of pocket 2 lots of shipping?

Sorry to read of your experience with that trade,
No! you are not obligated to refund the Buyer at all for a change of mind purchase, including the purchase price.
However since you do have the item returned your Buyers fair options here are to pay shipping to have the item returned to them Or accept a partial refund of the purchase price minus the shipping you've pre-paid to have the item returned to you for inspection.
Be very clear in stipulating the item wasn't charged properly & if possible re-charge the item yourself, take photo's/video's of it fully working. - Keep all correspondence & media taken incase it is required coming forward. - All the Best.
