TM Promotion opt out?
Hi all, Just wondering if it is at all possible to opt out of TM's latest efforts to drum up business for Ping??? I don't care about the no fees option, what I care about is getting trapped into having to use Ping when I'd rather not. It's one thing to pay with Ping when topping up your account, as you have no choice, it's another when it comes to getting your money back out when bank transfer is a perfectly good option.
I would just like it to be possible for TM to give traders the option of opting out of their promotions if you choose too. I find it annoying that there are things I will not be able to list until after the 11th now as they may fall into the category of Home and Living or Fashion and Beauty. I don't even know if my relists will be affected??? Rather than advantaging the seller I see this more as disadvantaging them. This cleverly disguised promotion is for a much longer period this time too. 28th Sept - 11th Oct. Come on TM, really!!!

Kia Ora Wendy,
Unfortunately No! with these types of promo's there is no opt out feature other than the Not Listing during the promotion duration term. Yes! any Relists on the day or days of the promotion are also bound by the promotion term. - Cheers.

Will this be automatically removed after the promo. like it was automatically added or will we have to manually do this?

Kia Ora Michelle,
I'm not TradeMe staff, I'm a Member the same as you all, going by the Listing rules Relists follow the pre-selections made on the initial Listing of the item which would deem payment methods applied to the original Listings would remain therefore you will have to un-select the Ping payment manually on any items being relisted.
You can contact a staff member directly to clarify that. - Cheers.

There's no option available to remove the automated Ping option, nor is the existing Option there to include a Bank account payment.
In New Zealand, It's Opt in under legislation to the best of our knowledge.
Not in the remotest bit interested in the Automatically coercive tactics of forcing us to use PING, merely to get No success fees.
We also question if this screw up has been why we are unable to see who is watchlisting our listings and been able to do Fixed Offers.
Coercion is abuse and that's not ok TM

Kia Ora harold,
In the first Listing term of the Promotion you are correct, there is no option to remove Ping or select Bank payments, these are not part of the current promotion Listing terms. - Beyond the first Listing duration of the promotion Relists retain the previous payment options - these payment options should be changeable. - If they aren't you would have to create a New Listing with the payment options you want. - Cheers.

I'm not a fan of Ping but I can't even add it's as not enabled. Same thing last night. Good one Trademe
I used sell 3 things a week but in the 2 - 3 months now I sell 3 a month
One of things that have gone from my listings is FPO. I used to sell most by FPO
It seems like some terrible psych experiment to frustrate the hell of us til we quit.
Is TM owned by Blackrock now?

Hi Victoria,
Try listing an item using an old listing (sell similar). If it has the old features it will load using these and you can bypass the TM redtape, at least for now until they plug that loophole. Good luck and hope this helps.
