Using Key Words to appear in Searches
AnsweredHi all
Just this week, I'm trying to get back into Trademe selling and have a quick question.
In all 9 of our auctions listed so far, I have put our username in the body of the text in each auction.
However, when I and friends and family try and search in the Markeplace Search window, we all get 0 Hits.
I would assume that such an unusual word would at least throw up our listings but we're getting 0 hits
Can anyone explain why a Key Word search wouldn't show a word that was listed iwithin an auction?

Kia Ora Chris,
You need to add your username to the Title rather than the body of the Description text - Cheers.

ahhhh... thank you.
I assumed the trademe search engine scanned the listings in their entireity.
Good to know, it's restricted to the title.
That'll help with how we word our auctions.
many thanks

Yes they changed the search engine quite a few years ago. Many people still don't realise. Then they wonder why their "phone for sale" (title) doesn't get any hits.
Cram as much relevant searchable content as you can into the title Chris. The order of the words in the title also affects how far up the search results your item shows. Put the words you think most likely to be searched at the start of the title.
