Kia ora Russell, sounds like there may have been a bit of a bidding war between you and another keen buyer! When this happens auctions can auto-extend if there are bids within 2 minutes of the auction closing. If you have concerns about how the bidding went you can get in touch with the team via the contact us link at the bottom of any page.

Hi there, thank you for responding, i am aware that bids within the last 2 minutes extend the auction. Thats why i am concerned, as it counted down, went to 0, said CLOSED, and then another bid came on minutes later. I have the screenshots that show it closed for $71 and then minutes later it closed again for $81. Just very confusing as i watched it happen

S Community Superuser
Kia Ora Russell,
Sorry to read that's happened to you also.
Yes! I have had this experience and I have seen others report it through Community here. - I wrote a full report of the happening for TradeMe, including screenshots and have since reported suspect methods in which this may be caused including 3rd party bidding tools.
At the time TradeMe had me check I was running the latest version of my browser and then to check my device time and date was set to automatic on my system - I screenshot both of these steps for TradeMe as Yes! I was running the up to date version and my device system is set to auto.
Sending in your screenshots to TradeMe will allow them to investigate further though unfortunately you have missed out on that Listing. - Run the 2 checks staff had me do & All the Best coming forward - Cheers.
