Can I add a phone number on listing

Hi Belinda. Basically, no. You can only add your phone number or email addy to certain listings that have a special field for it eg a car or house or similar. If people want more information for general items, the usual thing to do is ask questions requesting specific detail, or extra photos. Posting contact details in general areas like within auction description or Q & A leaves you more open to scammers and hackers.

Some people will reply to a Q & A saying something like... Before bidding, please ask any questions if you are unsure as WYSIWYG. If you wish to bid or Buy Now and on collection you find something not as described here or not as shown in photos, then we can cancel the deal. 

Thankyou, it’s a caravan they want to view and I can understand they want to view before bidding. I’m not sure how they can contact me. Is an email address more suitable?

An email address is worse, as it's linked to your Trademe account so leaves you open to scammers and hackers. In a caravan auction there is a space for you to add a phone number. Maybe you can edit it now to add one if you didn't in the first place.

Hi Belinda. If it's a caravan, and listed in the correct category you can add a phone number. There is a dedicated place to do it. I wouldn't put it in the description. That will allow anyone on earth to view it. You will likely get scam attempts from abroad.

Edit the auction, put a tick on the box of the phone number(s) you wish to display and add them.
