I transferred a refund through Ping to the buyer, but she said not receive yet.

I just want a help from you please, because the buyer was received the items last Monday, and she had an email to me, complaining that the item was not authentic which is for me is not true. she requesting a refund what she paid, since I respect her as a buyer and I don't want any arguments, I did not hesitate to transfer the money through my Ping to her Ping account as well on Trademe on last Monday, May 5 in the afternoon. Our conversation was if I refund the money she will send my items back to me. The following day I sent an email asking to send my items and send also the tracking number so I can easily trace it, but she said not yet receive as it will take 3-5 working days before it showed to her account, which is I don't believe her because when you send the money through Ping it takes only few seconds or minutes to show up in your account, and I'm also wondering why she didn't message me for past few days about the refund that till now not yet receive I don't know if it's true. Please help me, I am really stress now because I already refund her money but my item still on her and she's obviously lying to me. Do you believe that she's not yet receive a refund from my Ping account? I don't believe her, this is a kind of scam. Obviously, She want a refund but she still want to keep my items.

When a Ping Refund is made, even though you Refund through the Ping Ledger, the actual money is refunded Direct to the card used that the Ping payment was made from therefore your Buyer won't see the money in their Ping account though they should have received a Refund Confirmation email from TradeMe. - Whilst it can take some time for the refund to appear in their Bank card used, Banks are stepping up their processing times & if you refunded on the 5th May 2025 I would expect the money to be in their account by now 10 May 2025. - Email them back to check their Bank Statement of the Card the Ping Payment was made from. - Some people use more than 1 card for purchasing also, a gentle reminder of this wouldn't hurt either.
If you have no Luck you will want to contact TradeMe staff direct through "Live Chat" & type - Talk to person - in the bot window to open a Dispute under the Seller Protection, enabling a staff member to reach out to your Buyer on your behalf. - All the Best!

You should never refund until the buyer has returned the item in question and you have inspected it, make sure it is the same item you sent, and is in same condition, as some try and do switcheroos, and send you back a similar item, which has been used and has a possible fault, I have it happen to me, but they failed to notice the number stamped on bottom was a serial number which I always take photos of,
Also some get refunds and never return the items, as have no intention of returning them, they just want the refunds then they ignore or block your E-Mails,
When you buy from a shop you cannot get a refund until you have physically returned the item, so staff can check it,

Thank you for the advice, I admit my mistakes, I didn’t mind that it will happen this and it’s to late when I was think that what if she will not send my items back. This is the first time it happened to me but I’m still think positive that Trademe staff will help me.

flossy63 Community SuperuserWe are not staff, we are just members like you, I have now been a member for 21 years on here and we too have made mistakes along the way too, being to trusting etc. like the days of untracked bags/Parcels when I was new, just refunding, only to learn I could put a claim in with NZ Post in my early years, to discover one member was getting their parcels after NZ Post investigated, that membership was later disabled,we are here to help you with solving problems etc. share some of our knowledge and own experiences what we have learnt along the the way, and what some others have experienced too,If you do not get item back, Place factual feedback before your 45 days are up, if you have already placed feedback, you can edit it once at any time, so edit it well after 45 days if they have not placed any, because then they cannot retaliate or get it removed, just do not break the feedback guidelines, but there needs to be a warning to others when members play these silly games,0
