Was there an Issue with the item, or was it just not what wanted or expected?, If it was a fault on your side not disclosed or shown, you need to pay shipping both ways, If they have had a change of mind, or item is not quite what they wanted, no you do not need to refund the shipping back,
If it is a change of mind or they brought the wrong item, you do not need to refund at all, they can on sell it themselves,
Never ever refund until you have received the item back and have it in your pocession, as shops to not refund until the item has been returned, Some get a refund first and never send items back, as some play that game too, these days you need to be wary,
As you will need to inspect it before refunding, is it in same condition as sent, has it been used?, (clothing has it been worn, sometimes a sniff test tells you this) is it the same item you sent? some people also do switcher roos, as has happened to me, hence unbeknown to them, the buyer, a number on item in question is actually a serial number which I always take photos of, and it was not in a clean state, and not working properly,
