Being Over Charged For Post
AnsweredWhat do people think about people who purposely over charge for post costs ?
I purchased an item the seller quoted $15 for post but when it arrived cost on the label was $8.50 ! he said the box last cost $2.50 but this is still only $11 overcharged by $4 !.
The sellers attitudes was stop whinging , what option do you have for blasé people like this other than to post appropriate feedback.

I would contact the seller and ask for the difference to be refunded. If they say no, maybe report them to the TradeMe team. Just my suggestion.

Yes I asked for a refund but they for some unknown reason think they are entitled to do this 😳
They told me the cost was $15 after posting the item so I naturally thought that was the cost , they say since I paid I agreed to that price! Go fit some people0 -

Kia ora Nelson, sorry to hear about your experience. Good advice here from Hamish. It's in our Code of conduct that postage costs not be inflated for profit and should reflect the actual cost of postage and packaging. If you feel you've been overcharged and you can't come to an agreement with the seller, get in touch with us and someone can take a look for you.

Ooh interesting.. I'm trying to convince someone to start trading on Trademe and I've just tried to post asking why sellers are paying an extra cost on shipping at sale. I can't understand and therefore explain to my friend the cost to Trademe. I know this is probably answered somewhere already but ...
"It's in our code of conduct that postage costs not be inflated for profit" ?
kind regards

Kia Ora Angela,
It is only In-Trade Sellers who are charged a shipping fee - Casual Sellers don't attract this fee. - Basically it came into being as well noted that Traders were selling their items cheap but inflating their shipping cost so this fee came in as a deterrent method TradeMe adopted. - Cheers.
