Adding a reserve price
AnsweredHow can I add a reserve and starting price after listing? These boxes are now 'greyed out'.

Hi Shirley. I guess you mean change the starting price, as you can't list something without one.
Does it have bids? If so that would be why. You can't change it or add a reserve then.
The only option in that case is to remove the bid(s) and change it. Or completely withdraw the item and relist with the starting price and reserve you want.

Hi Shirley, that needs to be done when the listing first goes up, you could withdraw it and start again, which wouldn't be a bad option if its only been live a few hours, but if its been up for day(s) already, you best just let the auction play out, and you get what you get, withdrawing auctions causes a lot of upset bidders, its not worth the hassle of annoying a whole lot of T-Me users. (Unless we are talking a really high value item).

Hi, I couldn't find a way to make realist some of my auctions is $1 reserves. Run an auction button was not live even after I removed the buy now and the buy now price.I'd like to know how to make my auctions $1 Reserve.

Kathleen, when starting a new listing and to make it $1 reserve, you simply leave out the reserve (hidden reserve) and make the start price $1. You can add a Buy Now if you want to as well.

If you have started a listing with only a Buy Now price, you can't then change it to an auction with a start/reserve. You need to let it close or withdraw it and do it again.

Hi,
I'm trying to add a reserve price and starting price to my re-listed item. Both boxes are greyed out. I've managed to add these previously, what's the issue please?

Steven, you can't edit a live Buy Now only listing to make it an auction with a start and optional reserve. You can only do this at the point of creating the listing, not edit afterwards. You'll either need to withdraw and edit the prices as you relist it, or, wait for the existing one to close then edit as you are listing it. You could edit to make the existing one close sooner rather than withdraw if you wanted.

Thanks Gary. Seems strange as it has listed twice as (unsuccessful) auction with a reserve and start price and when I went to relist this time it didn’t give me the option.

Hi there,
I have just started an auction (with no bids) and am wanting to add a buy now price but it won't let me edit that part.
Can you please tell me how I can do this without having to relist?

Hello Marianne. If you can't you can't. Unfortunately it's one of the glitches that has been hanging around for months that Trade Me aim to fix "early 2025"
