Shipping options for expensive jewellery

I noticed that Jewellery is a NZ Post 'restricted' item. What are the best options to ship a jewellery item worth over $5000?

As for options, there really isn't one. About the best you can do for an item worth $5000 is encourage the buyer to collect in person. That's the only truly safe way. However I guess the big jewellers have arranged a separate contract so they can send items of higher value. You might try asking a local jeweller if you can piggy back on their account, and see if they will send something on your behalf if you pay them.
