Active listings - unable to start listings
I have 17 DVD's sitting in my products that will not relist, I have plenty of funds so that is not the issue, they are flagged as active, I try opening the item in My Products as if ediding it and saving the listing - which used to activate the listing - but nothing.
Is this a bug or how can I get the items to go live?
Cheers Alan

Are they Buy Now only and on the new shipping templates? If still on old shipping templates and Buy Now only, they need to be updated to new templates before they can list.

Hi Gary
No they are all auctions, none have a buy now price.
I have had issues in the past with other listings in my products not relisting automatically, and usually going in to the product and saving activated the listing, this bunch have been there for days now!
I have also had a lot that the failed relisting as the description was too long, not sure if trademe reduced the number of listing characters as the effected ones had relisted many times in the past, but with these I just shortened the description and they relisted on saving...
This has me a bit puzzled

Not sure if it's both your accounts you are having problems listing from Alan, but you don't by chance have your MP settings set to keep within your listing allowance ticked do you. Might may to check in case those extras would put you over your allowance maybe. Just a thought.

Hi Gary
My business account is running fine, the personal one is the problem, although the listings with the issues did finally relist overnight - after 3 days. I am having to go into My Products every day to sort something which was and should be automated...I do have maximum set at 50, however these listings are DVD's - selling off my collection - and they do not have a maximum listing number.
Do you know if trademe lowered the character allowance in the description? as I am having to adjust a lot of my listings before they will relist - this was not the issue with the listings we are discussing here...
I have been with trademe for 20 years now, over 1300 feedbacks and 100% positive, Trademe has gone downhill rapidly over the past 2 years, the changes they have made have been to the detriment of users like me, over complicating what was once a simple process for both listing items, and finding something I want, for example I can enter the title of a specific DVD I want to buy and the search results more often than not list DVD's with individual matching keywords at the top and I find the Actual DVD with a matching title several search results pages in... A lot of my friends feel the same way and have switched to Facebook Marketplace and to be honest I purchase a lot less than I used to..
Cheers Alan

Strange one. Yes usually listings that are activated can take 10-15 mins to list, but usually, and always for me, if you activate from within the product, it lists immediately. I've never been a DVD seller, but that's right, they don't count in your listing allowance.
I've not heard of a change to description field length and haven't come across a change myself. I often do a bulk scv export/import and bulk footer edit, and have a couple that are over the limit IF I include the common footer in them so it always says they won't be updated, but if I leave the footer off those 2, all others are ok and have the same max length of 2048 chars that it's always been. If you use a common footer and you have increased it recently, there is of course less available chars for the description as the 2048 chars includes the footer if you use one so it can push some things over the limit, but it usually shows you those ones and tells you they won't be updated.

This maybe a stupid question, but has your product got a stock level of 0 causing it not to list?
For me, if it doesnt list its either because of this otherwise there is sometimes a message stating why it hasnt listed (eg account in debit, missing info - eg DVDs forgetting to tick the nz classification button, too many words) - these are just examples ive seen

Hi Andrew
The stock is '1' on the items, it has only just started happening which makes me wonder if there has been a recent update with bugs...
I find myself checking regularly now to make sure items are relisting...Cheers
