Weird Listing Failure Wording in MP/ Sales way down
A couple of days ago I had 2 instances of listing failure. One with wording similar to " this listing has recently been edited by another person, please refresh and try again". Only person doing this is me, but it was in a current screen.
Also had problems a few days back where I was repeatedly having to log back into trade me ( on laptop) and having to go through 2 factor authentication each time.
What is also noticeable is that this week I have had 11 sales, none since Wednesday ( Sunday now). I have averaged 30 plus sales a week for months. What's happening?

Don't have any particular comments on your first 2 issues. I haven't had that message before, and haven't been forced into 2FA yet. Some other posts about repeated requests for 2FA on here. Might be worth looking those up. My general goto fix when odd things like that happen is to try a cookies/cache clear.
For the sudden decline in sales, when this happens it's always good to check yourself to make sure your items are visible. New competitors can enter. One of the biggest issues I find if a previous good seller suddenly stops is a change in the Trade Me "snap to" search system. So log out and do some searches for your item(s) You might need to tweak the listing titles or the category to get things bumped up the results.
But also, in general retail across the board, and on Trade Me, big declines are happening as discretionary spending lessens. It's pretty tough out there for everyone. I often watch and attend company liquidation auctions. Those auctioneers have never been so busy. Previously they used to do 1 or 2 auctions a week. Now it seems to be just about daily. It's sad to see.......

Thanks Callum. What do you mean by "snap to" search system. Never heard of this.
The majority of my listings are dvds, and generally there's been a steady sales of these since I took to doing my Trade Me almost full time. These aren't something I can adjust - the title of the DVD is the item. Any advice on getting my listings seen above others, other than paying of course :)

Kathryn, Trademe sometimes snaps to a particular category when you do a search and only shows results in that category. It may be the best category or it may not be depending on how others have listed. Not everyone sees the Search all of Trademe instead link that's shown, when this happens.

Ouch, yeah DVDs have been in decline for years. Blame streaming services (legal and illegal) coupled with the ever increasing shipping costs I guess. I had an estate lot and ended up binning 75% of them after a few weeks with no interest at all. Even some OP shops I went to said they would rather not take them!
Still, it is worth doing some searches yourself to see if yours are coming up, and that the price is competitive.
