Andrea is quite right - this is pretty much your only course of action. If that fails your choices are down to - walking away and chalk it up to lesson learned, or you are looking at small claims court.
I had one come through that was just nuts - it was even below where the currernt bidding was, and there had been bids for sometime, I thought to myself when I saw it "WHAT are you high?" But then I checked the time that the question was asked, and it 3:30 am on Saturday morning, then I thought well in fairness, he might be high. That's a thing I notice with some of these low ball offers, they are at weird times of the night, so I think some of these offers are from people who are high or drunk, and have no clue what they are doing, that is just part of the fun of online selling!
Tuesday has been and gone, I hope this got picked up or you started the refund process. Trade Me is such a great platform, but sometimes you just end up with these situations, I personally am not a fan of FB market place, it’s the Wild West of online trading, at least T Me has some rules and a support net work. Anyway good luck with whatever you decided to do Beth.
Hi there Nicholas In no way is thread pointless, you had a concern and asked a question, good for you buddy! Everyone here is happy to help. Some day someone else will have the same problem - 100%, and with a little luck, they will do a search and find this thread, and problem solved. Good on you Pal.
Without Knowing all the ins and outs and what been agreed to already - I feel as though what should be happening, is that the seller should be refunding you your $300 and then chasing their own refund / claim from NZ Post, I don't think that you are supposed to be stuck like this. I also suspect that if NZ Post knew it was a print/painting behind glass, they might have refused to take it... (which could be the cause of the hold up????) Dont Let it go Rahbeka - Good Luck, make sure you are keeping all the emails etc.
I vaguely remember something like this happening a while ago, and what the story turned out to be, was that someone was selling an iPhone I think? And T Me had wanted the seller to provide proof of ownership, but didn’t close the auction, but somehow shut down the Q&A but the auction was still running, sorry this was a while ago now, and I may not have the story straight anymore, perhaps something like this is going on. what type of items are they selling Ella?
Hi there Emily - Its never nice when this happens. First of all, never let a buyer bully you into something you dont want to do. The story of them not realizing it was buyer must pick-up is B.S, they had to have ticked the Buyer must pick-up box when they placed the bid. So you are 100% ok to stand your ground. ( I rather you would, that way they will be less inclined to try this again with another seller, and that other seller might be me!) However you do have other options - If you felt inclined you could ship it to them. There are some great videos out there on YouTube on how to make a r...
Indeed as James has suggest you could use the Q&A feature to ask the seller - Something like "Hi there, sorry to trouble you, but I was wondering if you would use XXXX courier company if I happened to win this auction, I am happy to pay any extra cost that this may incur " Nothing ventured, nothing gained, the seller may just say "no" which is fine, just move on to the next auction. But they may also say YES! I would also advise you though if they do say yes, please place a bid straight away, Some sellers find it very (VERY) frustrating when some one asks a question like this, that potentia...
I wouldn't. If you have already created the listing, then stick with it. If you split it up after the listing has gone "live" you may / will find that you are going to annoy a potential customer who is interested in the whole set. When we get this requests we answer with something similar to this "Hi there, no sorry we wont be splitting this set up ourselves. But if you did win this auction, you are welcome to relist the parts that you don't want and sell them yourself - who knows you may even make a profit!" This way, you are providing them with a solution, without disrupting any other pot...
If you are saying that it was the 10th of November, then that is not that long at all, give them a bit more of a chance, remembering that the 12th and 13th are weekends, and if your seller is Canterbury based, the 11th was a public Holiday as well. Far to soon to be starting the disputes process. Unless you mean it was 10th October, then by all means start a dispute.
