Callum - I have used both manual and automatic, it does not make an iota of difference to how long it takes to get the money from Ping to our bank accounts.

So there was a whole thread regarding us complaining about the new look trade me, but I can't seem to find it so am I to assume that TM is censoring the complaints now? A couple of months on now and nothing seems to have changed. I just spend the last 15 minutes trying to quick relist 3 auctions. Each time it failed yet it relisted one that I was asking it not to. Far out man, this is enough to send a sane person crazy. Why can't we see the seller statistics with these auctions? So Trade Me, you're telling me this was Q Cards update? Or was it yours? Because if it's yours, then you've just unilaterally inconvenienced 1000s and 1000s of Q Card holders for what? For an upgrade??? This is outrageous and not the least bit bad practice on your part. Sort it out and reinstate the ability to use Q Card!!

jpicard oh wow, this is very good to know so thanks for letting us all know this little nugget. So just to reiterate, unless Trade Me change it so that the ping money gets transferred immediately or at least in the same day / within a couple of hours as with a bank transfer, then this move serves no one but Trade Me and we are all being fooled and ripped off. Had my buyer been allowed to pay via a bank transfer this morning, I'd have received the money by now, had the item packaged and the courier booked already but nooo now I am forced to wait and wait for days. 

Callum - I have never had a ping payment turn up in my bank on the same day. Never.

Oh no I wasn't aware of this function and I can't say I've ever seen a live chat link. I'll have a look and see if they can help. Thank you.

flossy63 You make a good point about putting people at risk and yet the situation remains.If someone wants to pay via bank transfer, I will not stop them. I actually am not bothered about any risk, and yes I know there are scammers out there, but after all the years of selling, I've only ever been ripped off once and that was because I mistakenly sent the item before the buyer had paid and of course they didn't pay, but that was my own mistake. Otherwise, no payment, no item and no bank transfer has ever defaulted in my world. And let's face it, these problems are going to persist because T...

Think I'm being gagged from this discussion as I've posted twice now yet they are invisible - perhaps freedom of speech isn't welcome? I have found more than half the people buying from me are chosing to do a bank transfer. It seems to be preferred and easier, but I wonder if TM will find a way to put a stop to it. Ping is not a user friendly platform.
