There's nothing much you could do except to keep bugging Trade Me.
I usually use my email filter, so I don't have to look around in TM, that config might not even exist...haha
@Gary, ahh ok, thanks. I was reading the "buying" version of help: https://help.trademe.co.nz/hc/en-us/articles/360007000412-Removing-a-bid
Do they have many good feedback? My first thought was "must be a scammer"...haha. I wouldn't accept that and would even go to the extent of blacklisting them. A trader in NZ have no reason to use WU.
I agree with you, there are so many things they need to be working on, but they have proceeded to do so many things they shouldn't be working on (eg. moving the site to the new UI). TM management (that decides what the IT dept should be doing) certainly has different priorities...LOL
That's exactly how it works, deactivating in My Products doesn't automatically withdraw the listing.
Nothing much could be done now. That's just a tactic some buyers used to bag a bargain. What you have suggested are what she should have done, ie. declining the offer, etc. It's a jungle out there, selling on any platform is a risk, especially if pick up is offered, some people even get robbed or assaulted. If it's not something quite valuable, and if you're not short of the cash, just donate that and save all the trouble. If you daughter is serious about selling on TM or other platforms, these are the things she has to go through to learn unfortunately, especially if she's not used to sayi...
Not supposed to do that. But it's been going on for ages, if you have the time and don't mind spending the time and effort, feel free to report them. Trade Me is not able to automatically detect them. It's unfair, but it's also something Trade Me should be fixing, it's unfair to expect us to do their work.
Robyn I haven't moved to the new templates cos I hate them. Just thinking about the issue you are having, can you put those more expensive choices on top in the template? So the rural ones get displayed on top, the non rural buyers would probably keep on reading for the cheaper options below. i.e. in your template, the options go from the most expensive on top and least expensive at the bottom of the list. Do they get displayed in the order you define them in the template?
Wow, that's at least $25 worth of success fee, how can you let Trade Me get away with that? I always make it a point to ask for partial success fee refund, no matter how small the amount may be. Just flick them a "contact us" form and forget about it, they will get it sorted in a few days.
