Paul,This happens in all web communication systems and generally all media systems from time to time.Trademe is not alone in this problem.Sale /repairs/ auctions/ and a lot of other business's, even those that don't deal with the public at all, get this happening.99% of the time, it is the user being distracted for whatever reason and not seeing the clues.Eg: Seems too good for the price/ serviceGrammer/ sentance construction. spelling if wrong ;-)Pushy tacticsCountdown for end of sale countersSuper flash websitesCrazy cheapOdd email addressMissing or dead links to important information100%...

Why does it take so long to recover your feedback percentage after a single bad feedback.Seem like a bad feedback can drop you a whole percent but to regain the previous percentage rate, it takes about 100 good feedback or more, to get back up again.Thats pretty brutal on any trader under 1000 good feedback to receive about 5 bad feedback in a couple of yearsI have seen newbies get two bad feedback and their rating drops to about 95% but takes a few hundred to recover back to 98%

The only emails I get from Trademe, are the ones I selected.Plenty of options available, so Nope, not a reasonable excuse.

  • David commented,

The feedback effective ratio is also very harsh with bad/ red feedback.1 bad feedback on your ratio, can take a few hundred good feedback to even up the percentage again. It's almost like 1 bad feedback equals 100 good feedback

LOL yea, I sometimes get this as well.Buyer still pays for the entire listing and I often let them take what they want. Sometimes whats left over can be relisted and sold as well

  • David commented,

LOL, yea "TM to do list"like fixing the search systemMaking the site printer friendly (print what you see, not 5 times more pages)

  • David commented,

Hi S.Yea never a problem for me but it's another indication of how screwed up TM has become.Stats for a few various websites that I either own or help out with all show about 80% of users are on cell phones. Will pass that information onwards but it's probably not of any use when so many people ONLY have a cell phone

Got another one of those promises to remove bad feedback (in the feedback) and this one states they can't find how to delete it.Theres a few of those as well (some are in the feedback / some in email promises)

  • David commented,

Yep, still frustrating to trace. All to often I get those plus a different name and no subject line or nothing able to be traced all in the same tradeDifferent email addy plus different name plus nothing to reference on the subject line.Even the delivery address details are sometimes different again, to everything else.

  • David commented,

Yea all that and moreCan make for a messy trail to follow on a long winded trade. It even defeats those email services that group the same address's in to one block for reading
