I have seen people run an auction on IG. No reason why you couldn't. On there, if you can follow anyone and everyone who is in NZ, and they can follow you back, then you have an audience. That is what I did, although I decided that TM was enough for me to deal with, so haven't followed through.

shortsbandy, instagram seems to work really well for selling homewares, but these are the ones that I personally follow. Etsy for selling vintage/collectables and the likes, seems to be doing well, but they have fees. FB's specific groups for selling crafting stuff, seems to be doing pretty well, though I haven't tried selling myself there.   I would join a co-op, but wasn't that tried a few years back? While the old messageboards were going?

It's worth a try with some promoted listings I think. Surely not all my regulars have gone broke/watching their pennies etc, at the same time. Something doesn't feel right, but can't really know how others are doing, who are selling similar products to me, unless something can be garnered from their feedbacks.

Thanks Callum. I'm definitely not getting undercut, as I sell my items for way cheaper that other sellers do. I see people are looking at my items (they could be just those who have saved me as a seller), but no one is buying. There is only 3 pages of one particular type of product I sell, and they are scattered, although they were all listed at the same time. Maybe I should try paying, to see if I get more viewers/buyers?? Is that worth it?

  • crafters_corner created a post,

About October last year, all of a sudden, the bottom dropped out on selling. It was immediate, and very weird that all of a sudden, everyone stopped buying from me. Nothing has changed since then. I am lucky if I send off one small parcel a week, and even that is a small price item. I assume that this is an algorithm issue? Can I make this work for me, by use of key words in my listings? Or is this a matter of people not buying anymore? I am starting to sell a different type of product, to see if that gets anyone watching at least. Thoughts? Thanks.

Thank you again S. Yeah, that is what I am wondering...will it cheapen my IT stock. I do see other IT traders doing it. (sorry if I was a bit blunt with your answer. Having a bad day.:). I do appreciate your answer.

Thanks S, but that's not what I was asking. I am In Trade, and very aware of my obligations.

  • crafters_corner created a post,

Is there any advantages/disadvantages to selling personal items on our In Trade account, other than the fees.? I don't like having to switch between the two, as it messes with my brain, so feeling like I'm happy to sell personal stuff in my IT a/c, but is it a good thing to do, particularly as far as customers go, who come onto my 'shop' to buy a particular type of item that I sell, and have to view all my other stuff. Thoughts? Thanks.
