Absolutley nothing wrong with a buyer doing a bank deposit. It will also save you ping fees on the transaction. While TM do not put bank deposit in their payment options, it is of course still a very valid option than many buyers prefer. At the end of the day as the seller has specified ping in the listing, the seller can demand that, or cancel the trade, but why would you when payment by bank deposit is actually worth more than payment by ping as ping incurs fees. There is a large amount of buyers out there still wishing to pay by bank deposit

Since TMs changes, I have noticed a heap of traders now selecting cash and then paying to a bank account. He then has the option of paying you (after having dimensions to convince himself your request is genuine), or organising freight himself. And give him a date and time that you require payment by stating the trade will be cancelled at that point and success fee requested. I belive aramex have no "cubicizer" machine that automatically calculates vol and weight and checks it with the paid barcode. So yes, on aramex you could send a live horse through their system with a DLE ticket on its back and it would get through unless a real human checked it, but in reality I suspect they have next to nobody checking tickets. NZ post is a totally different game and they have the cubicizer machine and it can pickup under ticketed packages easily. I reflect sentiments of those above really. When Ping was introduced I was very sceptical ( tightass begrudging TM extracting more fees from me). However once I took it up was happy with it for its reasonable cost. Transactions flow smoother and quicker, refunds if needed are easily done. Also 80% of buyers use it, but I also accept some buyers don't want to for what ever reason so keep bank deposit option for them. I believe as Ping is so commonly used now many buyers are likely to pass a purchase by if ping is not offered, especially if there are similar items readily available on TM. And...

While you may think that $5.60 is expenvive, try and break it down into its components. GSt is 73c, the courier driver for pickup and delivery is at least $1 (50c for each action. so $5.60 is now down to $3.87. It then has to be sorted in both the incoming and outgoing depot, say 50c each, thats $1. It then has to go on a truck between depots. If its a nationwide price for the ticket, then they average out transport costs throught nz, that maybe another $1. While most listings should be able to list shipping costs as on courier, there are cases where larger items going by heavy freight have pretty much a different shipping cost to each town, and often different between suburbs in same town. To further complicate heavy freight, their rates are often spot rates, so vary day to day depending on demand in the freight sysyem. So simply not possible to quote a shipping rate in those cases.
