Interesting move as I notice many casuals really questioning how and why. Starting to do not only selling differently but also reviewing where and how they buy.

Hi S - Appears very much like during the pandemic and a certain payment pathway was offered for a period at no additional charge. Only when that period ended did users discover there was no stepping back…

Hi cataholik- Started with a confusing promotion for casual sellers which forced use of Ping and additional fees on the seller. Then additional promotions with set Ping use fees for the buyers. Promotion was just against specific categories but again that appeared untrue. I have no idea if ‘promotion’ and ‘experimentation’ ever intended to have ‘end date’.

AJ & S - you expect casual sellers to bother? We pay the same fees (at least the majority of the time), request promotions but are not of focus because data overlooks that.

Re AJ - expired listing is time consuming. Possible yes but requires good memory of title and category with ability to scroll and scroll. Account transaction history is easier.

  • tintin4 commented,

Depends if you used promos or keep TM email history. Expired listing is a pain. Account transaction if promo used as history shows what you require. You just grab from auction number, promo pays in unexpected ways…

We have PO Box due to rural posties not liking our location. We had discussions with NZ Post and was told ALL courier companies would deliver to the street address of the PO Box lobbies and if they indicated otherwise they were in breach of delivery agreements. Previously the courier companies handed items into the rural network. Handing into PO Box network is no different. We had one courier request we collect from their actual depot but then dropped it into the street address (PaperPlus store contracted as NZ Post box foyer). I suggest contacting your MP and asking for NZ Post to sort con...

Yip - we are leaving too. Making Ping payment compulsory and leaving seller to carry additional Ping payment charges is insanity. If you are making it ‘safer’ then pass that charge to the buyer who is choosing to use it. We have items for pick up…don’t have margins for Ping transaction. Cash or Internet banking deposit…if buyer wants Ping or credit card that is their choice.

Hi all - I have successfully uploaded 5 images on my auctions but when I go to check the live listing only 3 are visible. This has only occurred today - anyone else noticing this or has TM had a volume or listing feature change??

  • tintin4 commented,

Hi Martin - I don’t use TM that often (I get frustrated as the process has got too painful) but I have noticed a limited selection appearing but I thought it rectified as you typed more of the address. My massive concern of late is TM generated emails that totally lack any address information from the buyer. So you receive an ‘buyer has notified their address for delivery’ and the address field is blank. Also received the same for payment detail as a buyer (account detail is blank). I have no idea what has happened to the TM platform but it has become unusable…
