Andrew We are just members like you, but have been on Trade Me for many years, I have been on here for 20 years, we are here to help, but do not have all the answers, we can only comment from our own experiences and knowledge, I am in no way gaslighting, If you use the Address checker, as in post above https://www.addresscheck.co.nz/, If it says the address you have been provided is Rural, Give screen shot to your Buyer, If they do not want to pay for Rural they need to provide an urban address, Also using the Trade Me book a courier, Manually typing the address in can give different...
Andrew I have had Raglan addresses postal code 3225, and they were Standard Delivery with NZ Post, Only Rural with Aramex, Did you try the address checker above?, as they will tell you, as my screen shot below shows, I have had no problem booking Raglan as urban with NZ Post, 3225 post code is both urban & Rural, actual address will tell you Urban or Rural, as a road near me, part of Road is Urban rest of Road is Rural as it heads out of town,
AJ Don't forget to factor in time, packaging you use that you have to buy like tape? wear and tear on your vehicle, petrol etc. or maybe a bus fare to get there, standing in queues etc. this is your cost, not the cost Buyer is paying for courier, these costs come out of your pocket, not covered buy the courier charge you charge your buyer, for the flat advertised rate of sending a parcel or Courier parcel, It may actually cost you more than the savings when you go to post shop for an Economy service, (Not Courier), that at times has poor tracking, usually the pick up collected fr...
Tim Here is link to a previous similar post, You have done your part and it was delivered with proof from courier, Do not refund, it has either been stolen, or they are trying to scam you, https://help.trademe.co.nz/hc/en-us/community/posts/12627132460559-Buyer-claims-item-was-never-delivered-do-I-need-to-refund
Andrew If you have a PO address, just use that, NZ Post are the only ones that can deliver to a PO Box, If it is booked through Aramex, It will be handed over to NZ Post to deliver to the PO Box, As a rule all Rural parcels booked through Aramex get handed over to NZ Post to deliver, Aramex do not deliver to rural as will be outside their delivery Zone, Best option is just use your PO Bx address, Do not use your home address if it is a non delivery address, A rural non delivery address is usually because the address owner has not registered or paid for the rural delivery service...
Maybe a work around, is by using the Blacklist on Bidbud, and remove them via there?, I still have the old formats, so have not seen it on the new format blacklist page?, and have not encountered issues like this not being able to remove members, as now and then I take some off too, once members have proven themselves,
L One reason, I have never updated the shipping template in My Products, so I can have free form, to do my own costs etc. Only downfall cannot do Multi Quantity, but that is ok, only ever had a couple of things that used it, it is a small price to pay not being locked into the new shipping templates, I do not want to be locked into delivery days etc. being stated on your auctions, my feedback speaks I ship fast, a lot of auctions I see now can be up to 4 days?, backing themselves, that could actually make buyers look elsewhere?, as a lot of mine are overnight or 2-3 days,
Gary-NZStocked Possibly another of their bright ideas, that no real thought has actually been put into it, as they are not big users of Trade Me & cannot see the bigger picture, My mind boggles over this, really!, um, it is a definite no from me,
I wish Trade Me would follow suit and go back to the old site,
Occasionally I get similar from Buyers, my suggestion is to ask if they are trying to pay via an app?, and ask them to try paying from an actual Website, Usually it is the apps causing the problems, as they always come back saying that worked, Many years ago it was known there was an issue with the ASB apps, So had on my auctions, ASB App users please use the ASB Website,
