Person asking for lower after clicking buy now
a person placed bids then brought my car for the buy now price. They then sent an email asking me to be reasonable and to lower my price by over a grand.
If I have to relist my car that’s a lot of time wasted which is frustrating. Do they have an obligation to pay since they opted for the buy now price?

S Community SuperuserKia Ora Maygen,Sorry to read you are being mucked around with that Trade,After a Buyer has purchased any goods, whether by using the Buy Now option or placing a winning bid they have formed a legal contract to pay the amount they have purchased it at plus any shipping cost if/as required - There is No negotiation after the Sale - this is all to be done in the Q&A section pre purchasing the item. You stick to the original Sale - if the Buyer backs out of the purchase you can contact a TradeMe Staff Member through their "Live Chat" facility enabling the Staff member to contact your Buyer reminding them to complete the Trade, meeting their legal obligation - if TM don't hear back from your Buyer within 3 days you can Renew the item - If you are unable to Renew the Listing you will have to create a New Listing - Under the circumstances I'm sure TradeMe will help you with the cost of any fees arising from either method used to Relist your car so you only pay once for the Listing though it does pay to confirm this with a Staff Member first. If you choose to accept a lower offer after the Sale TradeMe is Not obligated to assist you given this is a transaction completed Outside of TradeMe - Should anything go wrong with the item After a lower offer is accepted outside of TradeMe And the T&C's you have very little recourse since the Original Sale Contract through TradeMe withholds the higher value Sold - All the Best - Cheers.3
