Very frustrating.. so many unverified bidders on my listing..
AnsweredI made a mistake and listed a car allowing non verified bidders. Now im getting dodgy bids.. I have asked trademe to change it to address verified only but it looks like they haven't bothered to sort that. And they haven't replied with any info about it.. Come on trademe, at least tell why you wont do it? Or if you are intending on doing it.. Gee just tell m e something.. this is frustrating.. I can see the auction getting trashed by these loosers.. Too many dodgy bids.. Very frustrating.. Is there any proper way to discuss this with trademe other than sending them a message and awaiting a reply that never comes?

I don't really have the time or interest to scrutinise bids to that detail. You do realise you can remove bids and blacklist people yourself if you really want to though?
I have had some shocking looking buyers who turned out right as rain, and some perfect feedback buyers who didn't. With vehicles the "dodgy bidders" as you put it are usually dreamers anyway. They soon drop off when the serious buyers appear near the end.
My advice is to just relax and go with the flow. Be positive. Worrying about things that might never happen isn't good. Verification isn't any sort of guarantee of a smooth trade anyway.:)

We will have to agree to disagree on that one Callum. I think you are wrong on all points. Usually i choose only verified bidders and never have any problems. This is the first time i have made a mistake of choosing to allow unverified bidders and the quality of bidders is shocking. One bidder has 8 feedbacks with 4 of them bad. Another bidder only has one feedback and it was bad. I could go on. Problem is I want this thing gone. i dont want to have to have to go through the process of relisting it and waiting another two weeks to try to sell it. And yes, im blocking them as fast as I see them. That wont stop some clown bidding at the last moment. With the amount of dodgy looking bidders its now a gamble whether this goes through. The thing is, how hard is it for trademe to communicate with people. Who treats their customers that way. I want to be able to talk to someone to discuss this..

OK so stupid question maybe but have you tried to change it yourself?
I just looked at one of my auctions with bids. There was no problem to edit it and then tick the box for authenticated members only.
There is a possibility it's different in the vehicles category. I don't have one of them running to check at present.

Wow, very clever Callum.. that worked.. I thought once someone bid, there would be no way to change any options.. But there was.. problem sorted.. You're a genius.. Now why couldn't trademe have told me that?
Thanks for your help mate.. Much appreciated..2
