Seller does not offer ping or afterpay option, would it be covered by buyer protection?
Hi, i have successfully won an auction, while i was making the payment to seller by bank transfer, i have just noticed this buyer is completely new and no any rating at all. Also the seller does not offer any ping or afterpay option, so i am wondering if i can pay the seller and would this purchase be covered by buyer protection, just in case it is scam.

No! Bank transfers and cash payments are not covered by Buyer Protection.
This Seller may be legitimate, just new and awaiting their first feedback. You can always contact a TradeMe staff member via Live Chat to have the account verified before making your payment - Have a quick scan of your emails incase TM have emailed you first regarding this Trade.
It's always good to ask Sellers in the Q&A section before purchase if they can put the Ping or Afterpay option on their listing for you.
