Seller going away on holiday
AnsweredSo I am going away on holiday, we are away for 10 days and would like to ensure no listings sell while I am away. I'm guessing the best way to do this is to deactivate all 'my products' 9 days before we go (7 days + 2 days to allow fixed price offers to expire)? Or is there another way?
Thanks

Hi
Yes that is the best way - having nothing listed while you are away. It is always a bit tricky. You may be best not to send fixed price offers out because if they are accepted then you have to phaff around packaging and booking them when you are likely already in holiday mode and it will only work if they accept and pay immediately. I usually make sure all listings are finishing 5 days out from departure and immediately email buyers telling them they need to pay by within 3 days or wait until Y date.
Enjoy your time away

If away for 10 days another option is to keep listings running, but state in block capital in the listing that you are closed between certain dates and no pickups, shipping or email replies in that time. Also state that if they dont agree to that condition they are not to bid/ buy listing

Its stupid really, a simple function would be to have a "holiday mode", ebay has it. Where all listing are simply "not visable" to buyers for the period your away. Editing my 450 lisitngs individually is not something I have time for, if you deactivate and let them time out in the days before, thats a good deal of lost sales and starting it all up again is a pain, redoing stock levels etc.

I am going overseas for 9 weeks is it possible to put our account on hold, so we don't get charged the monthly fee?

Yes, email your Trademe Stores contact and ask them to put it on hold. They can pause your Storefront and Store fee, but you need to manage your listings yourself. Let them know dates to stop and dates to resume the Storefront, although it is usually done on a monthly basis. Relist your listings when you get back.
