Don't forget Fixed price offers.
Around 5-10% of my sales come from fixed price offers. Often people forget a listing, or something else crops up. Yes the buyer can go looking again, but if you send out a FPO (Fixed Price Offer), you may capture a sale from someone that's already looked at your listing and added it to their watchlist.
Tip. You can send FPOs for an item that is unsold, or if you have more than 1 of something you can send FPOs for items that are sold too. If your listing was a Multi-Qty listing, a buyer can even buy more than 1 via the FPO.
My Products can do the FPO thing for you automatically if you set it to, plus it will keep track of your stock qty so you don't oversell.

Previously when a listing finished part of the Fixed Price Offer process divulged who the watchers were and a seller was able to select which of those watchers the offer would be made to to avoid buyers with poor feedback, etc.
The new format expects us to blindly offer to any watcher on the listing without knowing who they are. Is there any way to 'filter' the recipients of a FPO?

Yes, you can select which bidders/watchers to offer to by clicking the Selected bidders or watchers button, although the scrolling inside the box to do this is a mess and not at all user friendly, especially when you have lots of bidders/watchers eg
See below, it's a bit of a nightmare with scroll boxes inside scroll boxes, but it can be done, but certainly nowhere near as easy as it used to be.

We were also able to see the christian name of the watcher but now all that is hidden. Why? Why so much secrecy?

Samantha, real names were never shown in the list of bidders or watchers, only their Trademe membername. You have to click in to the members profile page to see their name, if they have one. What people put as their name in their profile is up to them. Some people just make up garbage, others use their initial, others have their name. It's a personal preference.

One thing Gary didn’t mention is that with FPO you won’t necessarily get an appreciative buyer with that. You may end up with someone who watched your auction because they didn’t want to pay that 2 dollars difference and then drag their feet to pay all week, making you chase them.

Hello Saskia, I ignored Gary's response because it was incorrect. We could see the Christian names of the watchers on the FANTASTIC OLD WEBSITE when we came to make an offer. It was a fast and efficient process. Now it's the opposite. He's either new, not a seller DIDN'T READ OR UNDERSTAND my complaint. There is not one improvement in this new nightmare of a site. It's a waste of time complaining because you don't get a satisfactory reply after taking forever to find the right channel under Help which doesn't cover all categories.
I would also like to know what has happened to the thousands of members who used to be online most nights. Take a look at the stats on the wonderful old Community page. Where have the tens of thousands of members gone to?
Why can't we click on a members name in community posts and be taken to their pages like we used to be able to?
As for the badges! Really? But you can't find whatever it was you were awarded the badge for. I don't think we need badges, Trademe. We need our wonderful old Website and Message board back please.

Hi Samantha. I completely understood your comment, and my reply is based on my experience. Christian names have never been on display in the list when making an FPO to my knowledge. It has only ever shown membernames, going back to 2004 when I first started selling on here in my older membername that had over 32,000 feedbacks before I sold that business. I can't say what was displayed before that though, so maybe it was back in the early days. Having said that, IF a member has their Christian name as their membername, then that would be displayed of course eg member Sam has their membername the same as their Christian name, but member Samantha does not.
Badges seem to be a bit pointless, but If you click your own name here in the Community, you can see all the posts, comments, and badges and why you were given them in the Badges tab eg
You Q. Why can't we click on a members name in community posts and be taken to their pages like we used to be able to?
A. I don't know why Trademe made that change, it sure was helpful when someone had a question on the old MB about one of their listings, but Trademe have said it's ok to ask for listing numbers here to help out with specific queries, but it's certainly not as quick and easy as it used to be.

Where's the price the listing originally would've started at?

If it was an auction and previously sold but the seller has more, the sale and offer prices show if you look in your items I lost folder as this screnshot just now.
If there were no bids on the auction or the auction item hadn't previously sold you need to click in to the auction from your items I lost folder where you can see as below...
If it was a Buy Now only listing ie not an auction, then the listing price is not shown.

Thanks for your reply, yes that's what I had to do (it comes up in the lost folder whether the item did or did not sell as was the case). But.... Has this always been removed? I feel like it used to be visible alongside the FPO!
