DAMAGED VEHICLE NOTIFICATION
My concern is regarding my vehicle listing.
On the top of the listing there is a notification stating. DAMAGED IMPORT CHECK.
Now this notification is severely affecting the sale of the vehicle because it advises that the vehicle was imported in a damaged condition, yes, that could well be correct, however it is clearly understood that any damage that any vehicle might have had when imported would have had to be rectified and cleared before it could be registered on New Zealand's roads.
As we know, a VIN number is only issued when an imported vehicle attains the very stringent conditions that all imported vehicles have to attain before they can be issued with a new and initial Warrant of Fitness. Also Warrant of Fitness checks are subsequently done periodically to ensure the vehicle remains compliant with the Road Safety requirements before it can remain registered. The DAMAGED IMPORT CHECK notification is therefore irrelevant and serves no positive purpose..
A notification of this tenure obviously raises concerns for prospective buyers and as a consequence I have had concerned phone calls asking what the damage was when it was imported, information I cannot acquire and pass on and therefore brings unnecessary doubt into a buyers mind of the vehicles condition and therefore has a marked effect on the vehicles sale potential.
I request that this notification needs to be removed from the listing as it serves no relevant purpose and is detriment to the sale of the vehicle

This would be something you need to contact VTNZ about. Trade Me pull the data through from there.
Have you checked the VIN to see exactly what damage was recorded and if it has actually been correctly rectified?
