Bring in live auctions

They'd struggle with numbers in New Zealand I think. In fact many (all?) of the traditional Live auction houses have all gone online. Some of them tried Live streaming for a while but it was just awkward. The auctioneer pretty much just has to sit there drinking coffee on camera while the online bidders battle it out. I mean why are they even there? Maybe he or she would get the odd floor bid from those in attendance if it was a online / Live stream / in attendance auction. But that then just slowed the process down. I do miss it, but you'd have to concede the computer does a far faster and more efficient job.

I totally agree but have you seen whatnot and eBay live auctions?
Perfect for sellers who want an online audience.

Yes, I've checked a few on eBay. Never heard of whatnot before today.
But sure everything is worth a try! Might be a way to add some excitement back into the place.
Of course you'd get 50 thousand people complaining that Trade Me need to fix the multitude of problems this place already has, before they throw yet another idea in the mix. ;)
