Phone Number
AnsweredI have tried to finalise a Buy Now purchase. It asks for a phone number which is """"OPTIONAL""""???? I do not have a landline only a cell phone. It will not accept my Australian Cell phone. I tried to use my mother's number, she lives in Te Awa. It will not accept that. I went to change my phone details and found and old landline number so I deleted that as it obviously wouldn't work. I put my Cell phone number in but it asks for a country code which is 61. In the drop down box it lists 614 and 615 not my state of Victoria. This is very frustrating especially when it states "Optional". Any suggestions other than ditching Trademe?

Hello timarukid.
This is a seller specific requirement. They will be requiring a phone number for their dispatch / courier process. Some couriers and or sellers won't accept a shipment without a phone number.
For a longer discussion on the issue you can refer to the post below. You may be able to resolve it by contacting the seller and explaining. The only official advice from Trade Me seems to be to "make up a phone number" if you can't add one of your own or a friend/relative
