Is it allowed to buy or sell aerosol items?
AnsweredI was looking to buy aerosol items here. But then I realised NZ Post considers them dangerous items and will not courier them. I see Trade Me also considers them dangerous items. Is it, for all intents and purposes, forbidden to buy or sell aerosol items unless the buyer picks up?

Hello meat_loaf20
Yes, sellers are allowed to sell them, and you are allowed to buy them.
However for shipping they are classed as Dangerous Goods. So the seller needs to have an account with NZPost or their shipper and affix the correct Dangerous Goods labels, and pack appropriately.
Of course many either unknowingly, or knowingly ignore that. If you have concerns you can ask the seller if they have permission to send dangerous goods, and will package and label the item correctly.
The Trade Me Book a Courier system doesn't allow Dangerous Goods to be sent. Which is probably where you are getting the idea that these can't be bought or sold on Trade Me.
