How do you complete a sale when no money has changed hands as we've swaped a car for a motorbike?

Kia Ora michael224,
Congratulations on your swap 😊
This is a Trade which has taken place offsite therefore neither party will be protected or covered by TradeMe should something go wrong. - The company don't operate a swap site. The Listing(s) are to be removed from the site now the vehicles are not available.
Steps to take to ensure you have a binding contract...
- Ensure both parties conclude in agreement it's a fair trade.
- Keep a signed record of the swap agreement terms & conditions, vehicles & parties involved, any other relevant information declared between both parties.
- Advise NZTA - New Zealand Transport Authority/Waka Kotahi of the change in ownership upon swapping.
- Ensure registration into the new ownership details are completed.
- Cancel existing vehicle insurance policies and add new vehicle insurance at the time of the swap so you're covered before any party starts off in their new vehicle.
- It's a good idea to check in with your local citizens advice bureau or lawyer to ensure all legal requirements are met incase there's a dispute after the swap, ensuring compliance with the law and that you have a legal binding agreement.
If TradeMe require more information you should hear from a staff member.
Hope this Helps. - All the Best.
