buyer paid auction price - but not NZ post bag postage or rural fee
It's been about 3 weeks & have tried to contact multiple times about the $13.70 nz post bag & rural fee sticker - they even contacted me on another listing & I replied & explained that they needed to pay for postage as I live near Christchurch & they live rural Nth of Auckland - but have not had a reply & so decided to cancel the sale. Sent notification to them that I had cancelled the sale & applied for sale fee returned, which I got & asked for their bank details to return the grand sum of $5 - what else can I do

I take it they paid you by Bank deposit/transfer - If you contact your Bank and explain that money doesn't belong to you they should be able to reverse that payment for you.
If it happened to be a Ping payment you will need to be on the Desktop site > My TradeMe > Manage Ping > All transactions > Refund on their purchase, the money will go back to the card they used to make the payment from. - This isn't yet an available feature on the Apps. - Cheers.

If you click on the buyer's payment, doesn't their bank account number show up on the screen? It does for Kiwibank accounts.
