Accepting an offer
AnsweredHiya,
I have been offered a price which i want to accept on my car. On the initial advert i have said i do not want to sell till end of March. If i accept the offer will I be able to delay giving the car till then? I cannot work how to contact the potential buyer?

S Community SuperuserEditedKia Ora Naomi,Your Terms of Sale must be clearly stated on your Listing leaving no room for confusion or misleading context for your potential Buyers. - This would include a specific date you are willing for the cars intended release with a mention of please don't bid if you are unwilling or cannot wait until then? - Ideally you would add payment accepted by date terms also, it would be unreasonable to expect full payment now being 11 March 2025 with approx. 2 1/2 weeks prior to your car's potential release date.Offers & Counter offers are only valid for 24 hours after which time they automatically expire, it would be in your best interest to clarify the Terms of your Sale in your Description before accepting an Offer you're unsure of the outcome/expectation of the potential Buyer. - The only way you can contact your potential Buyer would be if you have Traded with them before therefore have their details or if they have any Listings running you could put a Q&A comment through. - Neither options are ideal, one way could take the Trade outside of the TradeMe process where you are not covered or protected should something go wrong whilst the other way would lead to exchanged information in a unrelated item which is tricky to consolidate if required should something go wrong. Most Car Listing details can only be Edited within the first 7 days of the Listing going Live - If you are unable to Edit your Listing to clarify your Terms of Sale you are best to withdraw the Listing, Enter your Terms of Sale details clearly in your Description before Listing it again. - I'm sure if you explained the situation to TradeMe they may help you with Listing fees so you only pay once for your Listing though it pays to run this by them first. - Cheers.1
