Stopping then resuming a listing

You can't start a listing then pause it, but you can create a product in My Products and leave it there deactivated (not listed) till you have all the info you need, then edit it and activate it so it lists. I suppose you could start a listing, put a ridiculous price on it, edit it later on to add the correct info as nobody will have bid, but it defeats the point of having it listed in the first place.
