Error when creating new products

I haven't seen that message in MP before Shalane and I can make a new product no probs. At what stage is the message coming up? eg when you create a product and save it, when you go in to a saved product and activate it to make it list, does it happen every time etc. I don't remember the last time I created a new product other than just now to test as I always create a new one by duplicating an existing one and edit it to save time starting everything from scratch. Have you tried doing that?
The message is a common one in programming and it may be linked to a whole lot of new listings being created at the same time within Tradevine/Trademe but servers would normally have a larger buffer set in their config file to overcome this like httpsTransport maxReceivedMessageSize="2147483647" rather than the paltry 16777216 being reported in the error.

Yes, I had the same thought about it being a code issue which confused me a bit why it would be showing up the way it has.
For me, I am in Trade Me “My Products” and have duplicated an existing product then replaced the photos and adjusted the title/description as required. When I select “activate” and click the “save” button, this is when the error pops up. It also appears when I go back to the product, edit it and save the changes. The changes save, but I still get the error and am unable to make a listing for the product.
I have tried duplicating different products, reloading the photos and editing more details than normal without success.
The strange part is this only happened with 6 new products I created and then after those ones, I suddenly was able to create new listings with additional products. But those 6 continue to produce errors.
At this point I am going to delete the products and their stored photos and start again - I’m just hoping I can figure out why it is occurring in case there is something I can do to mitigate the issue in the future.

Ok, before you delete, if you go back to those same products that gave the error earlier, do they still give the error now if you try to activate? Have you tried activating from within the product and activating from outside the product by selecting in the list then pressing the activate button?
If you use a common footer, maybe try turning it off in those products, then adding it back.

Good idea on the footer - that seemed to have worked when I turned it off, saved the product then turned it back on again. I’ll have to wait and see if it will produce a listing in the next few days as I’ve reached my cap for free listings now.
As far as your other thought - I had previously tried activating the product from the product page and by the list but it did not work.
At this point there’s not much I can do but wait and see if they go through as listings now. Fingers crossed. Thanks for your help!

Good one. Usually the footer is included in the description text limit to show within the description box so you know how many chars you have left to work with, but I think some special chars get ignored in the count so this may not always be correct. It can also allow extra chars to be added if you edit the footer outside the product which if too many chars this can trigger errors and stop listings. Fingers crossed for you :)
