Create a personal membership

Registering on Trade Me is free and simple – we'll show you how in 3 steps.

Get started

When you register, your personal details need to be accurate – this is how we verify your identity if you need to contact us.

Only your first name and username are displayed on-site, and your email address is shared with members you trade with. Everything else is private.

1. Go to trademe.co.nz, and select Register in the top-right.
2. Select Personal use button and complete the registration form.
3. We'll send you a confirmation email. Select Verify your account to activate your membership.

1. Download Trade Me from the App Store.
2. Select My Trade Me profile-framed, then select Register.
3. Complete the three steps.

4. We'll send you a confirmation email. Select Verify your account to activate your membership.

Download Trade Me from Google Play.
1. Select My Trade Me profile-framed, then select Create an account.
2. Complete the four steps.
3. We'll send you a confirmation email. Select Verify your account to activate your membership.

We only allow members to trade from New Zealand or Australia, unless we’ve approved them as an international seller

Problems registering

Email
Phone number
Make sure your phone number is formatted correctly, with the right prefix (e.g. 021, 027, etc.) selected.
Address
If your address doesn't show in the address finder, select Can't find your address? to enter it manually.
