How to close your account
To close your account:
1. Log in to Trade Me Help by selecting Log in from the top right corner.
2. Start a chat with Tautoko bot and say 'I want to close my account.' To start a chat, look for the chat icon in the bottom right corner of this page.
What happens when you close your account
- You can't use Trade Me anymore.
- Feedback you've received is no longer visible.
- Your member profile becomes invisible to other members.
- You'll be refunded your remaining Trade Me account balance, less a $5.00 processing fee.
Your information after we close your account
- Your site history is kept for at least seven years, as required under the Tax Administration Act, and the Secondhand Dealers and Pawnbrokers Act.
- There are some instances where we'll consider deleting personal information, taking into account security considerations and our legal obligations. Learn more about Making a privacy request.
- If you want to come back to Trade Me in the future, you'll need to use your original membership. Get in touch and we can resume your membership.
