ABSOLUTELY NOT! That is A grade B.S right there! No - you won the auction for $541, any success fees are for the seller to deal with, not you. Don't not pay more than $541 (Unless you are paying for shipping, then that's separate)
This a bugged me for years as well, we get told to provide the best possible photo's so buyer can make the most informed bidding/purchasing choices, but the photo quality limit is tiny!
Hi there Geoff, yeah this sucks when this happens, you have a few options here Pal 1) Just ignore it, and dont respond ( not the best, but still an idea) 2) Answer the question and politly explain how they are wrong, or how they have misunderstood your listing. Prove that you know what you are talking about, and perhaps quickly explain your process for aging the item. - Turn it into an opportunity to further promote your listing. 3) Do a comunity watch report - Say " I am reporting my own listing, the comment made by user ... is an attempt at trolling to try and derail my auction, can you ...
So I did 6 community watch reports on doubled edged daggers at the beginning of this week, 2 of which had incorporated knuckle dusters, so far 3 of the auctions have played out, and 3 are still live. I did the reports exactly as asked, I even copy and pasted the quote from the Trade Me guidelines. Now what has happened??? Did my reports get ignored? Were there not enough staff to action them? Or have has Trade Me changed its mind (again) about what counts as a banned weapon? All I know is, that if I try listing one, it will get taken down in a few hours, and I will get an email telling me ...
Why on earth would you want to add a reserve price that is the same as the start price? What would be the point?
We do the same thing - "Buyer must pick up or arrange own courier" . There are a lot of reasons sellers do this, but to site one as an example - how many sellers have bad feedbacks because of slow or useless couriers? 1000's! By making it the buyers responsibility we cannot be blamed for organizing a rubbish service. A good seller though who is expecting buyers to organize their own couriers should provide a preferred option. We recommend Pack and Send. Just do a Google search for Pack and Send in your local area and you will find a fairly easy to navigate page. Courier post, Post Haste are...
Hi there Mate - Just another member like yourself. Indeed, you buyer is being a dick. If they couldn't collect for 3 weeks, this is something they should have raised with you in the Q&A, and asked if it was ok for them to bid. Not dictate to you after the auction closed. Yes, your auction should have stated pick-up in 7 days, Trade Me says that trades should be completed in 7 days, but it doesn't hurt to put it into all of your auctions as well, it only takes 3 seconds to type out. But for sure, you did have a reasonable expectation that it would just happen that way. 3 weeks for pick-up is...
If they are putting in phone numbers for example you can do a community watch. Which is the little sherifs badge at the bottom of every listing. Just follow the prompts, select Q&A feature being abused. Word it something like this = "Hi there! I am reporting my own listing, Someone is sharing personal details in the Q&A, can this be removed please, also I have had this problem before, can you also email them, to ask them to not abuse the Q&A like this. Thank you for your trouble." T-Me staff will remove it, they just need a couple of days to get it done.
Also another option, sometimes this also happens if Trade Me have suspended, or kicked the member from the site. They may already be gone.
Was this listed as a buyer must pick up auction? I was this a shipping to be arranged? (But found you could not do shipping until after the listing went live? If it was listed as buyer must pick-up, then its on them to make their own arrangements for collection, be them picking up themselves, getting a friend to collect, or arranging a company like Pack and Send to come and collect it (They also package - so you don't have too). If your buyer refuses to do any of this, then you relist. (If they have paid you, ask for a bank account number so you can refund them, if they refuse to give you t...
