Auto-bid used to be buyer friendly and only jump by the minimum increase. Now it goes straight to the maximum value. This is an unacceptable change that is catching buyers out and causing us to pay far more for items than we should be. This is just greedy on behalf on Trade Me and clearly designed simply to maximise fees.
