Mails getting delivered 3 times a week (not every 3 days) sounds like a normal urban address. @OP if you have listed all the costs clearly in the listing and the buyer won the auction based on that, I don't think it's wise to negotiate anything at all after the auction closed, IMHO negotiating after auction closed is a bad practice, that resulted in bad habits in buyers who like to negotiate after auction closed. Please try to stick to the terms, costs, etc listed in the auction (even if the seller made a mistake and lost money). If a buyer tries to wriggle out of the terms of auction they ...
@Yvonne, TM's courier service won't help serious "business people" in cutting down courier costs, BAC is not the cheapest option around (except maybe if one is happy to use Aramex). BAC is only good for the occasional traders who don't send many parcels.
No (as far as I know). I don't use BAC and will send every tracking to the buyer directly.
I'd be surprised if Aramex does entertain a receiver's claim. It's usually the sender (usually the seller) who should lodge the lost parcel claim. In some rare cases the buyer arranged for courier themselves, then the buyer should be the one to lodge the lost parcel claim.
Generally, you can't. Trade Me doesn't want buyers to get in touch directly with the sellers, that presents the risk of them completing the sale outside of Trade Me to avoid paying the success fees. There are probably a few categories (I think vehicle sale is one of them) where you are allowed to include contact details (since a listing fee applies). Any questions? Use the Q&A section of the listing, and also don't mention any contact details in the Q&A.
@Gary It's not clear in the new UI whether one will be charged a withdrawal fee, "may"...
I sold something and it got stuck at "Collected from sender" for weeks, I dropped the parcel at the post shop. When the buyer asked me, I made an enquiry with NZ Post. I was told it's highly likely the parcel has got into the normal mail system (instead of courier) by mistake (I think it's because it's a very small and thin parcel). But it got delivered eventually. I personally believe the seller is responsible until the buyer received the parcel physically. Even when the status is "Delivered" and the buyer claims the parcel hasn't been received, I think the seller is still the one who shou...
Probably another Trade Me "feature" that's not intuitive, but it's been explained in the help section: https://help.trademe.co.nz/hc/en-us/articles/360007263411-Placing-a-bid
I do sometimes put "Listing withdrawn by admin" as the reason for withdrawing a listing (MQL not auction). But this "admin" is actually me, just want to make the reason sounds more legit...haha
Gary, I have no idea who gets sent the reason. Depending on what I'm withdrawing and the actual reason behind withdrawing the item, I'd phrase the reason accordingly. Sometimes I'll just put "a". Usually when my free listing allowance got reduced, on the Monday, I'll withdraw a bunch of listings with reasons "a". Sometimes I'll put reasons like "listing expired", "listing withdrawn by admin", I feel life is more interesting that way, instead of always putting the same reason...haha
