Ping is a payments service built, owned, and operated by Trade Me. They removed the payment option of bank transfer saying its safer for their users. 2.19% is taken from payments to sellers, and you're unable to remove this Ping service from your auctions. Sooo, forcing people to use a service they may not want, they are unable to remove, saying its safer, is that legal?
