Hi Brendan, approach the Commerce Commission, too. (I was censored for trying to put those words in my previous post!) A friend of mine has just noticed that Trade Me did exactly, to her listings, what they did to yours, ie. added Ping, totally without her knowledge or consent! A couple of her listings now have bids on them, so she can no longer edit them, to remove Ping. So I have advised her to do a Contact Us, demanding that a Trade Me staff-member removes Ping from those listings, and also to report Trade Me to the Commerce Commission. I wonder how many other sellers have had Ping add...
Hi Brendan, I suggest that you do an email-chat with a Trade Me staff-member, to request a refund of the $22 that you were charged. I think that you have good grounds to receive a refund, as Trade Me imposed Ping on that listing, without your knowledge or consent - compared to what is written on their Help page - because you did not select Ping, but Trade Me did that, without your consent, at all. To do an online-chat with a Trade Me person, click on the words Contact Us, at the bottom of your Trade Me pages, then, when a blue bubble apprears on the right-hand side, type-in Talk to a perso...
Hi K, because I have found the new-look change to shipping options so very frustrating, I put the postage amount in the auction details, and also add there that I am happy to combine postage, and for the buyer to ask for the combined postage.
Hi Hussain, you could look up your old listing in your emails, so, that way, it will show you the details of your listing. The photo will have disappeared, so, if you wanted to relist that listing, you would then have all the details, but would need to take a new photo.
Hi Callum and Gary, yes, I totally agree with you. I did a Contact Us, to report the breach to Trade Me, and asked, at that time, for a Trade Me staff-member to email me, re the problem, but - even though the robot said that someone would get back to me - there has still been no reply, at all, from any Trade Me member, about the breach, but just absolute silence about the matter. There is still one member's name that hasn't been fixed on Community Post, so I have alerted the person about that, and suggested that they do a Contact Us to Trade Me. I have also told Trade Me that there is an o...
Hi Tania, Trade Me has put your full name on your post. There has been a major problem, over the past few days, when Trade Me put members surnames on Community Post, instead of just their first names. It seems that most members surnames have now been deleted, but your full name is still there, whereas just your first name should be showing. Refer to my post about the breach. I have told Trade Me that there is still a breach with your full name showing, and asked Trade Me to fix that, but you may need to contact a Trade Me staff-member yourself, asking them to fix this for you. The Trade Me ...
Hi Gary, thank you for letting me know, and for your comments. I haven't fixed Trade Me's privacy-breach of my surname yet, as I think it is important to keep it up there, for a while, as an example, so that other members are alerted to this security-breach problem, what it looks like, and your solution about how to fix the problem. Trade Me committed the privacy-breach, so they should fix it!
Hi Callum & Jane, there seems to be a security-breach by Trade Me, as your (Callum's) surname has appeared in your comment on Jane's post, and your surname has also appeared, Jane. Usually only your first name would show. The same thing has just happened to me, now, with my comment to you! The same thing also happened to me, when I wrote a comment on someone else's post. My surname appeared, and it wasn't until I did a Contact Us - reporting that problem to the robot - that my surname suddenly disappeared. So it seems that the robot realised the privacy-breach, just after my message, and th...
A very important matter, about violation of privacy! I notice that - on the Community Posts pages - Trade Me has started to breach some Trade Me members' privacy, by publishing not just their first names, but also their surnames, on this page. Surely, this is a breach of the Privacy Act! I thought that, on these Community Posts pages, Trade Me members were not meant to identify themselves, but it seems that Trade Me has started doing this to some members who post here! So, isn't this a violation of Trade Me's own rules and Community Guidelines, to not breach anyone's privacy? (ie, Trade...
Hi Vicki, it is good that you have been able to get the multi-listing option working on your google chrome browser. Unfortunately, my Trade Me is now stuck on the new-look, and, a few weeks ago, the multi quick-relist suddenly stopped working for me, and Trade Me hasn't been able to fix this, at all. Using My Products, as a workaround, is not an option for me, so I am now listing only a few items here, and have gone elsewhere for the rest, until when - or if- the problem gets fixed. Quite a few other people have also experienced problems with suddenly losing the multiple quick-relist functi...
