What idiot thought up this new system? It's going to be a nightmare! I live rural, so I send all my parcels via NZ Post (I have free 5-days-a-week pick-up), but the delivery time options are nowhere near what NZ Post cite. Firstly, there is only one delivery time-frame, Fastpost on both letters and parcels no longer exists, and NZ Post state 2-5 business days as normal, but there is no option for that in this new system, so I have to guess which one of the several WRONG options to use. Also, I have a shipping option of $0.00 to allow buyers to pick up, but that's not possible now. I al...
And I've just found another problem - many of my listings are MQLs, and shipping rates change depending on how many of that item a buyer chooses. With my existing templates it has been easy to specify how many can be shipped at a given price, but that has vanished too!! Sure, the different shipping price options are there, but the info that said how many could be shipped for that price has gone. Well done, TM - a total bollox from start to finish. And I'd bet my mortgage I'm not the only thoroughly p*****d of Seller - over 15 years on here, and this is the biggest stuff-up yet (and that...
Nope, the new stuff is still on my listings. They need to take it down, take some advice on what would work, then then create something that just might work. I would have thought that consulting with In Trade sellers - those of us who are on here every day! - would be a no brainer! JMTCW
There are 3 things that need to be sorted before I can use the new templates: (1) I need to be able to indicate Nationwide - Urban" and "Nationwide - Rural". Otherwise buyers are always going to choose the cheaper option, and get grumpy when told they have to pay extra. (2) I need a $0.00 option or something similar so that I can allow buyers to pay via Ping but still pick up their purchase. (3) I need to be able to indicate different shipping prices on MQL's depending on the number of items a buyer purchases. One or two items are never going to fit in the same size package as 6 or 8, ...
Different day, same old crap. Yet again experienced sellers have been ignored by the techie types busy with their new creation, and now we have to teach them what actually works in the real world. rather than their fantasy island. IMO the whole thing should be deactivated while they actually take a look at what is needed to make this system workable, and get it right. Only then should they look at including it in the new (probably as badly planned) search system, and trialled with a few knowledgeable sellers to check for bugs before it is launched site wide.
flossy63 exactly! I don't have enough margin in my items to make it feasible for me cover the shipping costs, and upping my prices to compensate will make my items too expensive. Neither is going to generate sales, or income for TM from those sales! Somebody over there needs to realise that no sellers means no buyers and no income for them.
Having HALF of all your rural sales be problematic is just totally unacceptable, and it's their fault that it is happening. I won't be changing until they get it sorted out.
Callum I use the $0.00 pick up only as not just an option for them to pay with Ping and collect in person (can be done contactlessly) but as a way of indicating exactly WHERE pick-up is from. As is typical with TM's "locations", I live some 25 kms from the indicated town, so having a more accurate location is necessary.
123kitchens I don't use BAC either, even though I do send parcels with a tracked service. I live rural, so a 50+ km round trip to town each day to send parcels via Courier is just not practical, and no couriers pick up from rural addresses. So I use NZ Post, which offer an excellent service to rural customers - 6 days a week mail delivery and 5 days a week parcel collection. I can buy shipping online as and when I need it (no need to invest in a stock of Courier bags), and their pricing structure is probably cheaper than some Courier companies. It has annoyed me that because I use NZ P...
Arthur, I've been buying and selling on here for 17 years this March (back before In Trade" accounts were ever heard of), and TM using sellers as free sources of advice is nothing new! And having them release unthought-out and problematic software is nothing new either. It would be nice if they could actually seek advice at the development stage instead of launching a thoretically good idea that has been very poorly designed and implemented. Actually, what would be really good would be having them fix the bugs and problems that still exist from previous "good ideas' before launching anot...
