Hi S I’ve had the make an offer option available on the listing but have had no offers yet. I am now able to make fixed price offers again on the listing to any watchers it had when it has closed but have had no response to any of my fixed price offers at this stage usually I set my start price to the lowest amount I am willing to sell an item for so if someone is not willing to pay the start price I am happy to just re-list it and if it doesn’t sell over time I’m prepared to just keep it.
Dee you can withdraw your listing for free within the first hour of listing if it has been listed longer than an hour contact Trade Me using the live chat option and see if they will remove the listing for you at no charge then you can re-list it tomorrow without the Ping payment option.
Yes Shaun if you don't have Ping selected as a payment option you will have to pay a success fee if your listing sells I am ok with that as I don't offer Ping on any of my listings unless it is a expensive item where I can justify the 2.19% Ping fee.
For anyone who uses My Products I activated x19 my listings earlier today and as I don't have Ping selected as a payment option on any of my products when they were activated no Ping payment was added to the listings so you are good to just list as normal if you use My Products and don't use Ping. If you are creating a new listing outside of My Products using the "Start a listing" option Ping is automatically selected and you can't remove it like in the screenshot below.
Thanks S with the problem listing I have now also edited it to include the make an offer option in the hope the watcher who requested a fixed price offer may see it and make me a offer on the listing and with also setting up the fixed price offer option for the listing when it closes in My Products I will see if either of these gets a response from the watcher.
Hi Michelle thanks for the advice I already use My Products and have used it for a number of years now and it's great normally I don't do fixed price offers to watchers of my closed listings I usually just re-list the listing. The issue I am having is when a member requests a fixed price offer on one of my closed listings and there are no watchers visible on the listing therefore a fixed price offer can't be sent. The only time I would consider sending a fixed price offer is if a watcher requests it but on the problem listing I will set up the fixed price offer option on it via My Products ...
Trade Me sent me a email the other day after seeing my post and advised the issue I am having is due to the upgrade of the site with some listings having issues while others are not affected. For me the issue is the same on both the desktop version and the app when my listing closes I can see the number of views it had but not the watchers so when you get a fixed price offer request from a member you can’t make them a offer as the watchers are not visible on the closed listing even though it had watchers when it closed. For the last few weeks I have been receiving the “A Trade Me member is interested in purchasing your expired auction” “Offer this item at a fixed price” email from Trade Me on one of my listings when it has closed but when I look at the closed listing there are no watchers shown so I can’t offer a fixed price but if I then re-list the listing straight away x1 view and x1 watcher appears on the re-listed item which makes me believe it did have a watcher when it closed but that watcher is not showing up on the closed listing for some reason. Hi Rob for me that has been happening for quite sometime try using BidBud to view the closed listing at least on there you can see the closing price and the bidding history which you can no longer do on Trade Me.
Caroline it might pay to check your notifications settings to make sure the questions asked option is selected in the selling notifications options.
