It is forcing us to lie to customers in a way, not everything fits in a box but that looks to be the way of the future and damned if it isn't morally right. I hope TM take responsibility for deliveries and times stated as it's there form boxes that are telling the story now, not our own details any longer. At least before we had the area for free comments on shipping but nothing there now.
I have just attempted to use the new template as well. All ok for the standard shipping stuff but I want to continue offering a $0.00 with the wording: Combined, postage must be paid on one auction only. If I use the area in the template I will have all customers selecting the 0.00 and not paying postage at all. Can we not have a area that we can add comment or instruction in please. Cheers
Hi Lucy Could we please have another option added to the shipping template. $2.00 - NZ Post - Nationwide - This item only Envelope 1-5 days Cheers
Jan I think it's best if you contact TM staff as there seems to be very little we can do to change the shipping options, can't even make up our own now under the old format, have to use there boxes and no free typing area to add our comments or delete there's. Send them a email and fingers crossed they will get right back to you.
Yep, If TM were doing all this for the buying customer don't you think it would have been good pr for them to have sent a standard email out to all that are registered explaining the new system and the hitches that might happen during the changes. Advising buyers to read and communicate with sellers directions etc. Gosh if NZ Post can email us every week with changes and stuff going on within the company and warn them why can't TM. They are trying to be one of the big boys so come on get your media people working and stop just leaving us all in the dark and not listening to your most import...
unfortunately shipping changes will only update when the auction has ended and relisted. A real pain in the proverbial having to go into each live auction to make a change if you want it to show right away.
here goes the first of the Nationwide interpretations. Just had a sale from a Rural customer. Would normally be able to read my Rural Text postage charge easy. Read the Nationwide Express charge and picked that, did not look further on for Nationwide Rural. I'm going to go through and bulk edit all of my listings back to my own template with Text instructions until TM get things working better. I have no intention of emailing all customers and correcting there postage choices, not good business.
Totally agree with you Kate. I'm so sick of wasting hours in my day to sort out these shipping options and trying to be nice to customers and explain TM's changes that just do not make sense. Strike comes to mind, no sellers no profit for them, wish it was an option but realize it just isn't. Wish they would pay us for all the time we waste trying to implement the changes. I've changed all my shipping templates and yes customers will one day get the picture that they must actually read the stuff we write up but until then it's just more stress on us sellers.
Thanks Cam, I'm still hoping that having the Rural moved to the second box will be an option. Seeing that Nationwide wording first seems to hook some people, they don't read any further except the prices. Nationwide means Nationwide there is no BUT for Town or Rural. I have not seen any difference in my listings ranking over the last week, so yep I would like to know exactly what difference this new template is supposed to make. Cheers
Arthur, Yes I could try that, putting the Rural option at the top. It will show first in choices then but I'm not sure it would do any good in the shopping cart when they do multiple buys as that even lets them get through with no postge option selected at all. I do wish trade me left us with a bit more control on how we display shipping options.
